Through the new teacher support system, DVISD places first and second year teachers in a two-year mentor program. Additionally, the district provides innovative professional learning opportunities for staff with Del Valle University. As of 2013 DVISD covers 38.2 square miles (99 km 2) of land within the City of Austin, making up 12% of the city's territory.

We honored our DVISD retirees for the years of service, dedication, and heart they have given to our district.
